Editorial Policy

How we create our guides, how we stay independent, and how we keep our recommendations accurate and trustworthy.

Publisher: Top 10 For Kids · Last updated: September 16, 2026

Top 10 For Kids exists to help parents choose products for their children with confidence. This Editorial Policy explains how our content is made and the standards every guide must meet. It works alongside our How We Review method, our Affiliate Disclosure and our Corrections Policy.

Independence: no paid rankings

We never accept payment in exchange for a ranking, a place on a list, or a positive review. Brands cannot buy their way onto our pages or move up the order. The order of every guide is set only by our published scoring method, and commercial relationships never influence it.

Our promise: if a product is ranked #1, it’s because it earned that position under our method - not because anyone paid for it.

How we research and review

Every ranking follows the same repeatable process: we choose the products parents actually consider, compare official specifications, prices and features, weigh published editorial reviews and recurring themes in verified parent feedback, and score each product on the same weighted criteria. The full method - including what we do and don’t test - is set out in How We Review.

Accuracy and sourcing

We take specifications, prices, materials and safety information from official manufacturer documentation and reputable retailers, and cross-check them against published reviews. We aim to be accurate at the time of writing, and we clearly note when something (like a price) is checked on a specific date. Prices, specifications and availability change often, so we always encourage readers to confirm the current details on the retailer’s page before buying.

Affiliate relationships

Some links on our site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission on eligible purchases at no extra cost to you. This never affects our rankings or what we recommend. See our full Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Who creates and reviews our content

Our guides are produced by the Top 10 For Kids editorial team and checked by our product research desk before publication. We write for parents in plain language, explain the trade-offs behind every pick, and prioritise fit, safety and value over marketing claims.

Health, safety and sensitive topics

Some of our categories touch on child health and safety (for example cribs, car seats, high chairs and monitors). For these, we follow recognised, general safety guidance and clearly flag where advice is general in nature. Our content is for information only and is not a substitute for professional, medical or safety advice, or for the manufacturer’s instructions. Always follow current guidance from qualified professionals and the product’s manual.

Keeping guides up to date

Product categories move quickly. We update our guides as products, prices and safety information change, and each guide carries an update history so you can see when it last changed.

Corrections

We’re committed to getting things right, and to fixing mistakes quickly and transparently. If you spot an error, please tell us - see our Corrections Policy for how we handle it, or reach us via our contact page.
